Using the fiscal 1990 baseline, Japan achieved an 8.2 percent cut in emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from fiscal 2008 to 2012, meeting a 6 percent target under the 1997 Kyoto Protocol on curbing global warming, government sources said.
日本政府筋の発表によると、1990会計年度基準比で、2008から2012会計年度の温室効果ガス総排出量は8.2%減少となったが、これは地球温暖化を抑制する1997年の京都議定書で定められた6%削減の目標値を達成する見込みとなった。
