A UNESCO body that screens cultural asset candidates has recommended that “washoku, traditional dietary cultures of the Japanese,” gain the status, the Cultural Affairs Agency said.

世界無形文化遺産の事前審査を行うユネスコの関連機関は、「日本の伝統的食文化、和食」が登録される見通しになった、と文化庁が公表した。
